Welcome to my blog Everyone!

I am a 30 year old mom of three crazy kids. Ive been married to my best friend for 11 years now. Although I spent 10 years in the supply/logistics Field, I am now a hairstylist in my small town shop and I LOVE IT! I'm originally from the uppity town of The Woodlands, TX but we now live in our quite little country home on 6 acres in the small town of Trinity, TX. It has taken us a lot to get where we are. My husband and I met in 2004 right after high school and eventually joined the army together to travel the world (and we did). We spent 6 years traveling with the army spending most of our time at Ft. Hood in Central Texas but we fell on some hard times in 2011 job wise and when my brother passed away we decided to transfer with my job (I was a prison guard)  to be closer to my family. Long story short, we lived in a small 2 bedroom home owned by my parents for 4 years and were blessed to be able to buy the ugly duckling house next door. I have always been able to see potential in things and this house definitely needed my vision. We purchased the 4 bedroom 1 bath house on 6 acres for $8k! Yes, 8k total. The house needed extensive repairs and although it had 6 acres, it was pretty much 6 acres of shingles, trash & crushed up mobile homes. It was in HORRIBLE shape. But, nothing that me my husband, dad, and paw paw along with their tractors, bulldozers and trailers couldn't handle. It took us every single minute of downtime for a whole year to clean up the property and to completely renovate the home but we are finally moved in! Inside of our home is pretty, and although the 6 acres is no longer a landfill, its a blank slate. I keep telling myself in time my yard will be beautiful. I get overwhelmed and think almost every other day to list our home and move back to the city so all I have to take care of is a tiny little square of a yard. Landscaping is not my forte but I'm learning! I started this blog to inspire others to take on huge projects and to chronicle my adventures in making my own little hobby farm. Although I truly enjoy the laid back slow paced small town lifestyle, the inner snobby being in the middle of everything self is struggling.  The benefits of country living way outnumber the benefits of suburban living, i just need to embrace my new lifestyle. Join me on my journey to rural acceptance and focusing on the happiness of my family :)
